Ya know Jim, after looking at the photos of the gills I caught thursday I see they are really taking on that pink purple shade they have in colder water. That's the same look they have through the ice up here at Cupsaw lake.

Jim -Didn't take a water temp but I had my hands in the water a lot and I can tell you it was cold.I caught most of the fish slipfloating 16th oz.feather and squirrel tail jigs with a third of a Crawler or a mealworm. One of the Bass came on a Bomber 4f crank.I also spooned upseveral fish using a 10 oz Pimple with crawler .The fish wouldnt take a plain jig so I used up all my bait.

It really came down to one honey hole .The fish were all over a fallen oak tree that I recalled produced Crappie Perch and Gills last year two days after Thanksgiving.I caught my two biggest Bass this year off the same tree in Summer.I fished the spot for a good while then gave it a rest ,left to check two other spots and do a little trolling when I came back to the tree the action was super hot again.41 Fish all but four off the tree. The fish were all fighting great, even the Crappie!! Two 18&1/2 " Bass ,18 Crappie 10-10.5" 16 Gills all around 8-8.5 " and thick! 4 perch trolling,1 White Perch

Wow! What a great day! What was your pattern and techniques? Got a water temp?
