I've made my own, too, since there is nothing to them.
A few swivels, split rings, a blade and a hook.
They don't have much mass, so a long, whippy rod is needed. Again, these were originally fly spinners. In the plus side, you can creep them and they sink slowly. A nice weed too and structure
flash bait.

Sounds great David! 2# test spinners.

I use these in small streams and catch Trout and Sunfish ..

Just the usual suspects - sunfish and bass.

In the old days, back in the shrouded mists of my youth, I caught creek and lake trout on these out in CA.

What have you caught on them David?

Now youre talking my language.

The Colorado and its kin, the Idaho spinner, are probably the most unsung of all lures. I take the trebles off the Colorado's and add a piece of red cocktail straw to the shank. Maybe a plastic bead, instead. Pink, orange, yellow and green seem to be good colors.

The Colorado spins on the slowest retrieve. Ive also replaced the treble with a single baitholder hook and used live bait and soft plastic grub tails.
