Caught it in a net with a very traditional technique.
About 7 3/4 incher

That has to be one of the best ways I have seen on here to catch blue gill, been going after this the wrong way. Keep up the good work Ms. Sarah T.

i actually caught it in as net. we use this technique where you put a net on the bottom of the lake about 1-2 feet deep. then you hold the net as someone drops bread over it. in this case, i has a pair of 4-year-olds helping me. they were adorable. so anyway you drop the bread over the net, the fish swim over your net to get your bread and WHAM! you pull the net straight up out of the water. this method takes practice but it will all be worth it. I've gotten doubles and many huga fish this way. i did it at a beach where you're not a loud to fish. so i had to get my fishing fix somehow, and i knew this is where those big daddy's are.
