Actually, these are prespawn fish as the water dropped down to 64 F this week and even slightly cooler today...saw many smaller gills feeding on what appeared to be insect hatches coming off. We got these on single garden worms on a # 10 hook and allowed to fall through the water column, no weight, hope it gets past the numerous small yellow perch. The pond spawning gills we caught last week have vacated their beds with the cooler temps and incoming rain.
