Y'all may notice that this fish had the skeletal length, but not the hulking girth that some of the fish we have seen on this site possess. I estimate it to weigh 1-4 to 1-6 lbs. Although clearly an old fish, other gills in the pond exhibited better body dynamics and weighed more per their length. This pond has suffered from some drought conditions over the years and diminished growth rates may have caused loss in body weight during hard times. I heard of a 12 1/2 incher that was caught and released there this spring. Hope I'm next!

Linda actually caught this giant fro the pond where we catch numerous 5 to 8 lb bass each year. We had never given it serious consideration on gills until we took some kids over there to catch some panfish with worms and then she got the 'boy'. We have caught a 10 and a 10.5 fro there with many 8 inchers.
