Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

That's me, with an old friend. We took the pictures fast, and I revived her with my hands deep in the water where the cotton mouths had swarmed all morning. I noticed she had scale parasites on both sides, two angry red spots... I hope she recovers, and thrives. I will Google the meds for aquarium fish, and put some in my tackle box for our next meeting.

Thanks! I catch and release these lunkers every time I fish in my moms neighborhood lake. People throw bread to ducks, bream eat the bread, bass eat the bream... I use hand sized coppernose bream for bait, and throw them in the cooler when they stop struggling. If the bass don't eat them, I'm happy to! I've hooked the largest bass 4 times, but never gotten it out of the water for a picture... no0ones going to believe me until I have that picture, but it is truly HUGE... it makes this bass look tiny by comparison.
