Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anyone know what kind of Trout this is? First one I ever caught and I suspect its a NJ hybrid . I have since found out it's a stocked Tiger Trout ,a hybrid Brook/Brown Trout . Perhaps a duller colored Female .

Is this some type of Hybrid species of Trout? I have never seen markings like those nor color? I wonder was the fish sick? Have you caught any others like it?

First I thought it to be a Splake Trout until I checked google to get better pictures and I believe that you caught is a tiger trout. It look lighter color might be depends on water and location. Golden trout in natural is in small area in Calfornia mountains. Pa. stocked them ....... interersting!

Dickey- By the way the stocked Tiger Trout like this one I caught from my small home lake were shallow(6 feet and less) and the lake (Cupsaw) doesn't get deeper than 25 feet that I've charted on my LCD Depth finder.

Dickey -What species of Trout do they stock where you're from ?
New Jersey Stocking includes: Brook ,Brown and Rainbow usually with some Lake Trout and Landlocked Salmon stockings. Tiger Trout were new to me last year (09).I never saw a Golden Trout but nearby Pennsylvania has stocked them.

When they plant Trout here in the Southern states, they do so in the winter months. If they are not in very deep lakes by June they will die. They go down 75-100' deep in summer and with out the sunlight they lose their color. They turn a grey color like this one.

I think you are right on the tiger trout looked at a couple pics they had similar markings but with the blackish color the marbled trout was a more brownish color.
