I only caught one of these in my life .I recall it's aggressiveness.Caught him by a stream inlet in early spring ... he hit a 1/4 oz Bill Norman Tennessee shad colored crankbait.

I've only caught a dozen or so in all my years of fishing, however half of those were caught thru the ice.

Nice warmouth. I thought the warmouth was mainly a warmwater sunfish. Did not know they were catchable in the winter months. I have caught only one myself-by accident. He was about 7.5 inches and caught him in the middle of summer in a small, shallow, and weedy bay on a small lake. They somewhat resemble the rock bass don't they?

Sweet warmouth! That's a pretty good one, there. I caught one or two when I lived in north-central Illinois. That's the only time I ever saw them.
