Two rough winters seems to have eradicated all exotics.

I had Mayan cichlids, armored cats and plecos...all gone.

Tilapia are illegal to stock here.

So do you have any other exotic fish in the pond

Do you think any of the Tilapia are still alive

Will you add more Tilapia

Spotteds get about 8" and are delicious. Blue tilapia get big and are primarily the species used for food.

The spotted vermin being eradicated seems to have been enough to get the gills going.

Did the spotted tilapia get big enough to eat?

What did you do to help the bg recover? My pond is overrun by GSF. I don't want to poison everything and start over. And, it probably wouldn't help as no one put the GSF in there to begin with. They must come over as embryo's on the bird feet.

Mine for 2 years.

Built in 1985. Until winter 2010 it was over run with spotted tilapia. BG were few and far between and about 4". They seem to be making a pretty good comeback.
