Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

- same one from yesterday. I think this is one of the rudest things you can do to somebody fishing. Get it a lot - come up behind you and GPS spots or follow us around the lake. Pontoons, kayaks, canoes, and boats - don't matter. I had to stop and move in and wasn't able to fish Pig Point. Don't want those fish gone for ever....

I've never really thought of sidling up to other anglers to slip into their spot.
I usually wave, and say "Wasuuup?!" Maybe offer them a "lil' sumpin sumpin'" if close enough, (oh, wait... Can I say that here?) but I don't normally see anyone except the bass blasters tearing by.
It's kinda nice.
The idea of ice creepers and boat sliders trips me out.

What a slab Jim.

Funny things happen when you ask Tony.. Please & may I, open a lot of doors.

Scruples are short lived out here, carl (sad to say), and morals/ethics are right behind them...

guess it has to do a bit with-- ethics and morals.  one thing I have found on bbg site is;; very deciated people with good ethics; and morals.  proud to know each and every one of you.

Jim you're exactly right! Ask first, and I'll probably even drill the hole for you.

It is different Led. Every year the ice fishing boards will feature a threat or two debating the question of "how close is too close?"

Along with the proverbial "ownership of drilled holes", discussion.

I think the mindset of many is that since you're fishing vertical, no casting, it's alright to close in on you.

Tony is spot on with the ice fishing gig! And how anoying that can be. Thing is, if a father and son group would just politely ask, I'd be more than happy to show them what I am doing and maybe share a few spots.

Pymatuning, north end, was bad place for folks crowding in when they saw you catching slab crappies. I was with local hot stick Ken Smith and people were drifting right up to us. Hard to disguise catching 13 to 15 inch crappies. We'd just motor off somewhere else and hope they'd leave us alone...Ken had many honey holes and always drew a crowd.

Just one big reason why Ken Smith draws a crowd!

That would make me real nervous Tony.....

You guys should try ice fishing..... if you're on fish and there are other anglers around, it's nothing to have em' move in and start punching holes less than 10 feet away from yours. I have  had holes drilled within 5 feet of me when I used to fish public water.

LOL David - infamous maybe.. Think it's the boat more than me.

"holy crap ... im that old guy now! lol" I completely understand Ken

I watch bass guys on all BOW - nice way to find structure. I use the information for fishing later on. I do not want to crowd other fishers.

I'm always quick to judge David - need to take a chill pill and be glad I can still wet a line. I'm making a great "grumpy ol' man"...

Break time Ken - good time to re-tie - drink some coffee - check for messages...... These guys were going to fast and were to deep to catch anything.
