We're locking up as we speak.  2 degrees tonight.  I'm hoping by Monday to get on the ice.

What I think is amazing is that this fish is a male. Appears to have very large eyes. Incredible fish!

Ah, I see.....a big BG "fix" to see us through the lean times! I'd like to see you pull some through the ice Bruce.... it surely gets cold enough in Nebraska for the home lake to lock up.....

LOL!  I found this picture in my archives, and I couldn't remember if I had posted it or not.  I figured it was worth showing because of the detail presented with the ruler in the background.  This fish, as well as a couple of other true three pounders came on small crankbaits, mostly ones that looked like largemouth bass.  For some reason the largemouth bass pattern seem to anger the nest guarding males.  The best crankbait, but far was the Strike King mini-crank.

I've since topped the record with a 3-3 that I don't think I've featured yet on this site.  I'm hoping to generate a little winter excitement on BBG to get us through the winter doldrums. :-)

Can we get a clarification on the use of the word "stood"? As in, where does the record stand now?

That is just incredible, Bruce!!!! Details please..........  when did you catch this trophy......... what did you catch it on........ is Richmond Mill a clear water lake? This is what my gill dreams are made of!!!!
