Bruce, one of the differences between this hybrid and the one I posted is the amount of "orange tiger stripe" on the lower jaw and cheek, other than that they look to be very close in appearance. Given that the majority of hybrids are male it does make perfect sense that this is a male HBG x female BG cross.

That looks a lot like one of the hybrids I posted, interesting. Might be the offspring of a male Hybrid BG x female BG.

In 1994, before I had control of this particular 7 acre pond (I was only 11), the owner put in 300 hybrid bluegill. I am not exactly sure what type or where the hybrids came from? The originals are long dead, but they did breed with the existing bluegill population. There is a small percentage of "mutt" bluegill still left.

That's a hybrid, I'm guessing. What kind of fish is breeding with your bluegill? :)
