Do you love big bluegill?

Pain from shoulder surgery really spiked over night. At least I have insurance! Helps to have a sense of humor, too...

I need to be able to drive and work on Monday; the silly little stick may yet get pressed into service...

I feel for you, Andy. My wife Linda is currently fighting pain from her total knee replacement 5 days ago. We've got pain meds, but the recovery and rehab is very tough.

Motrin is anti-inflammatory, but an adult male usually requires 600+ mg for that effect. Below that it is pretty good at reducing fever but is really just an okay analgesic at best. Alleve (naproxin sodium, I think)  seems to do best for body aches for me but I have to eat a lot while taking it or get really queasy. Best of OTC meds that allow me to work that is.

I can feel for Andy...When I was In the service, they must have over ordered Motrin by a few trillion tabs, cause it didn't matter what your pain was you got 500 mg Motrin. It is actually an anti-inflammatory medicine....go figure....Good luck my friend.

No, but they denied the first two medications the doctor wrote for post surgical pain. They won't pay for extended release so I wake up in pain, take meds, they kick in after a half hour, go back to sleep, wake up in pain...

I got a little creative in expressing my displeasure.

So tell us Andy, The Healthcare people give you the stick to bite on when the pain gets real bad????

Trade off absolutely worth it. Doc talked about that. Some people really do decide to be old and infirm rather than deal with the increased pain and longer recovery. I could have gone straight to PT and been able to do most things carefully but never kayak again.

Andy, glad to hear you on here buddy. Probably be many painful nights for a bit. Sorry for the pain your suffering my friend, but the end result will be better than the prognoses of not having the surgery I'm sure. Praying the recovery time is short and your back out having fun fishing again....Take things easy my friend.
