That's a slabdaddy redear, the kind I target when I go fishing. Looks to be a big male redear, probably over a pound. Talking about a fight on light tackle, those fish tug like a three pound catfish.

As for them hitting flies a sinking fly line, weighted fly or a combination of both will get you the depth you desire!!!!

Zach, Redear are more of a bottom feeder which is not always deep!!!!
