Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Wasn't much happening but these.
A few small brim in the mix.
I hurt my knee and can't get in and out of the boat, so the dinks at the shore were my friends today.

one of the best things I tried this year; is a popper; with a spider; or nymph trailer; about 2 feet behind the popper.  it was awesome!  no tipping needed!!  several times caught 2 at a time!!  TRY IT!!!

Never doubted the worm, or you, for that matter. Greater men than I have extolled the virtues of the "angle worm."
I just hold out hope for an artificial that works as good or better, that's all. Like all fishermen do, I suppose.

I reckon I may as well quit dressing up jigs, though... all that painting and feathering, hackling and tweaking is just dressing, if it still takes a worm to make em work!
Maybe adding a worm keeper to em would be time better spent, and a little white, black or chartreuse paint on the head - and that's it.

I got to try fishing a Flatfish lure. Very cool, very satisfying. Lotsa tactile feedback as it works.

I also tried tipped vs untipped jigs.
Fancy Frills and lotta fluff - nothing.
Add worm and BAM! - fish.
