Sunfish inbreed so much they make so many variants of themselves! That looks liek longear mixed with bluegill mixed with sergeant major if that's possible! lol

The portion of the Frio that I fish has at least 10 ft clarity. You can see the bottom of the deepest holes, but due to the drought that isn't saying much. Here's an underwater pics to show you.

I'm not really sure what type of sunfish it is. I had never seen any like this one in the Frio River until last weekend. The water is extremely clear in the river and I was sight fishing to schools of them. I caught several that were about half this size. They all had the vertical lines with light bodies and bright bellies.
I caught one like that here, yesterday morning! Didn't have the orange belly, but was pale like that, including the "bleached" gill flap. Also a long-ear, btw. No idea if it's a sport or a sub-species. Just thought it was interesting.
