Travis, I know, SD sloughs are where it's at. Good luck getting on a lot of them, not to mention what the heck are you going to do there when you're not fishing? Visit Mt. Rushmore... ;)

Matthew- I have joted me a note on my November calendar to give your offer some serious thought! I might get a wild hair and head up that way.

Great Fish!!!! Doesn't the snow ever leave up there?

Keith, if you ever decide to make the trek, look me up. We rent fish houses that are sitting over walleyes and all of the perch you can handle!

Wow, what a whopper! I absolutly love the idea of ice fishing. We don't get the right weather to try it here in Oklahoma. I have always thought about taking a vacation in Jan. or Feb. and heading to Minniapolis. I have read about an Amtrak you can catch really early in the morning that will have you somewhere in the Dakotas on the lake by first light to watch the tip-ups or start jigging. Now THAT would be a vacation!

12" give or take. We get some nice perch up north, 12-14" perch aren't uncommon.
