Yeah my first crappie this year was on a cricket as well, 13 inc. Then I bought five dozen of minnows and killed them, five of them were 15 inchs long.

What was funny Jim is that all the legal crappie we caught were caught on crickets! We burned threw 100 minnows first thing every morning and sat there looking like dummys with only 3 4 fish in the boat. Start fishin for big bulls and wham here comes the crappie on crickets crickets! It was still chilly first thing in the mornings so you would have been proud to had seen the pics with my camo shirts on runnin up the creek!
