Nice jig fish! Did you tip it with bait? It's good to see someone measures their fish with the caudal fin closed. A relaxed tail will give the fish a longer measurement than one that's spread wide open. A wide, flared out tail looks cool in photos, but it also shortens the length of the fish. (We taxidermists know this because we charge by the inch....)

Say Tommy...I also run into some brusiers in the winter too!
Last year at a get together EForce caught a 11.5" gill...mounted it too.
...but then I'm after slabs all winter outside of some tullibee during the last month of late ice.

Tommy...I can't name the lake as word does travel on the internet.
I do guide and get $300 a day on the water or ice to put guys on these personal best's.

With 368 lakes to fish in the county there's always new water to work.

Steve...I rarely have a bad day on the water as far as catching goes.
Figuring out the pattern is key.
Then work the heck out of it releasing all of the nice ones along the way so they can be caught again and again.
I've got 2 more weekends to chase the pigs then it's time to switch gears for slabs.

Thanks guys....it took some work to locate these....part of it was luck and listening to scuttle.
I knew that they could be had and that I did not need to wait for ice.
As soon as the water hit 45 degrees these pigs ran out of the shallows for the deeper warmer water. Kinda like shooting fish in a barrel once I patterned them.

True they are world class.

What bluegill waters are you fishing? You got some world class waters where you are fishing.
