Do you love big bluegill?
Anxious to try this rig for diverse stream species .The 'Easy Shiner' (Electric shad color) with added Spinner, this time glued to a #6 Aberdeen . Adding split shot to 2# test line is asking for breakage so I added casting and sinking weight by using two rubber float stops a good sized bead and clevis/spinner .The float stops block the spinner and bead at any distance you chose ahead of the bait . Gives the illusion of a small fish in a vulnerable attacking or feeding mode

work for me but have a tendency to slip a bit so readjusting can be a slight pain . http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Eagle_Claw_Bobber_Rubber_Stops/descp...
eagle claw stop?? never used those before;; are they any good?
I also found out it's not the casting that bangs the bead against the rubber stop down to the hook .It's the hook
setting .When ya miss a fish or reel one in ya gotta reset the spinner . 6" away from the hook works a charm .
This Rig has proven itself to be very effective and has caught 6 species in the River .I stepped it up to 4# test from 2#.
Quite a smorgasbord of fish today for an hour and 1/2 fishing the same 4# test rig in a shallow river . Six Species ; 5 Smallmouth up to 10" , 4 dink Largemouth, a 7" Crappie, 7,1/2 " Blue Gill , two RBS up to 6,1/2 " and a 21" Walleye .THE RIG: 2" Keitech ,'Easy Shiner' 'Electric Blue ' pattern , Paired with two slip floats cinching up an added bead and spinner blade.4# test mono,#6 Nickle Aberdeen hook.
Pics to come .The rig on 4# test worked an incredible charm today!
Carl those are rubber stops that slip on . See pic . Eagle Claw float stops, no knot used .
THE ONLY FISHING KNOT YOU WILL EVER NEED!?
John;; what material are you using for a bead stop? would a small rubber band ; help?? perhaps a different style of knot? try a scalling hitch knot. only a suggestion for you.
I find the bead pushes the lower stopper down the line with casting so has to be readjusted a lot . .Gonna try 4 #test instead of 2and see if the thickness of the line will prevent this .I expect less distance casting however .Perhaps I can find stops specifically made for thin diameter 2# test line . Got pecks on this rig but only one hookup .The tail was bitten off . Have yet to try it in the river though . Just in the lake for a short while last evening . Maybe like Slip said try Braid.
will do Jim,thanks
