Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

The first two ever. I just sorta scrounged some stuff together...

Craft foam
Polyester thread
Poly "Fun Fur"

Pattern seen on "Warmwater Fly Tyer."... The Orange Foam Spider.

Clear nail polish on the heads. Haven't figured out the whip
finisher, yet.

Thanks, Tony!
I wouldn't call them art, but I like em.
They turned out well enough that they have promise, anyway.

My man, Vince!
Thanks for the encouraging words.
I need a few supplies now. The right thread, some hooks, chenille, rubber for legs.....
I'm gonna start out concentrating on "brim bugs," and go from there.
I still have to figure out that infernal whip finisher!

Heck those will work just fine! When I first started tying someone on here said "they don't have to be perfect to catch fish." I thought about that for quite a while, then it came to me, in nature bugs are not all perfect. I described my first fly as looking like a mad wet cat, and guess what..... I caught gills on it!
