Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Tied up some Deceivers today. Size 2, done Grey over Yellow over White, a color pattern the lure companies call "Sexy Shad". It definitely is sexy! Can't wait to get one of these wet!

Slip - thanks!  I have another color variation I want to do, but I need to find a Dyed-Lavender Bucktail.  May have to take a trip Monday, Cabela's, Netcraft, maybe BPS.  Might have to wander over to Shultz on Sunday as well.

John, Smallies here in MI, some of these are headed to OK, and will probably be used for LMB, Spotted (Kentucky) Bass, Striped Bass, White Bass, and Hybrid Striped Bass.

Keith, I had no problems throwing these on my 8wt.

Just wait.  I plan on doing at least a couple articulated versions of these color combo as well.

What size rod and line would you use for a fly this size? I've tried similar flies and they cast terrible.
