Known as "Blackspot"or"Neascus"......Lot of our Minnesota fish have it....Starts from birds and snails, a larvae thing.....Ugly but as Bill stated ,just cook the fish thoroughly.....Pretend it's pepper...lol!

Trematode infestation....rare in my neck of the woods, but very common in places with snails, fish, and fish eating birds.

what are those black spots on the fish? a lot of the sunfish i catch have those spots on them. are they safe to eat if they have the spots?
