At 38 inches, and at that girth, I'd give that fish an estimated 35 pound weight, maybe a little more. Some of those grotesquely rotund carp from the Euro venues are shorter, yet can be over the 40 pound mark with the hulking girth. Many of the Euro carp are routinely fed high protein food in those private venues.

My longest carp went 38 inches as well, but had nowhere near the weight of this yellow submarine! Many of our local carp are long, torpedo-shaped males that are absolute demons to land on even the heavy tackle. Just seem stronger, more active than the heavyweights.

It's so late at night...I'm not sure I remember the length of this fish.  I want to say it was something like 38 inches.  It was also egg-laden.  I caught it using my secret carp method.  I'll do a paragraph on it tomorrow.
