Richard, in my experience it depends on what they want rather it be subsurface or fairly deep but it I had to choose my favorite would have to be floating because I like to see the line run off or twitch once a fish is on.
Thanks Tobias, I haven't tied any flies in a few years but I've got another fly that I want to try also so I'm going to pick up some stuff for this one too and see how much I remember! . Do you use a sinking tip fly line or floating?
well the way I fish it Richard is to let it sink down, but it is best to use an indicator so you can see the strikes better. and As far as the recipe it is just some:
Legs: plain white
Body: Gloss chenille or any chenille you prefer
Hook: 6 to 12 or smaller
Wings: Rabbit Hair or squirrel hair or fox hair
Thread: 6/0 black or any color
p.s. try uni stretch thread you can tie all your flies quicker because its a thicker line and it actually holds up pretty good against those mean panfish,crappie, and lots of small bass and big bass will hit it as well.
