Do you love big bluegill?

Tonight We Ate Like Kings!

That's right...don't mean to rub it in...but I just had to do it!
These are crappie and bluegill fillets, though small, tasted spectacular when coming from the icy depths of a frozen lake!

i put my fish on ice soon after catching them all year long , and they all have the same great flavor

My guess is that the ice cold water just somehow enhances the flavor of all panfish species. I actually keep more fish fishing through the ice than any other time of the year, but still release the big boys.
