Not usually Slip but yes I've cooked up several in my time .I haven't learned yet but intend to get the y bones out so I don't have to make Fish cakes out of the sides . Not that I mind the fish cakes .Crushed in the blender the bones are no problem . The top filet and two sides from Dorsal to tail make great boneless fillets .There is a lot of meat on a 20-22" Pickerel! That's the size I like to keep to eat.
John do you catch and cook these c.picks? i know they are tough to fillet requiring some extra steps but they are tasy for sure... i keep a couple eater Esox Lucius/year and look forward to it
