May 2007 - Throw Back Thursday 19” Largemouth Bass- Interesting story on this one…. The family and I decided to do a little shore fishing on this new spot we discovered in Linden Michigan. A little reservoir was constructed by a small concrete dam about 12 ft high on the Shiawassee River. The river flows to Saginaw bay freely from this point. There was a family reunion/picnic going on and all the prime spots next to the dam were taken… yet when asked nobody was doing any good but the fisherman pointed out many respectable fish are taken frequently from the base of the dam. So the family concentrated on panfish, very small in size but numerous above the dam in the reservoir. After an hour or so the fisherman packed up and left and then I occupied their spots. Wham, wham, and wham one respectable fish after another… this was a nice quality largemouth and also caught walleye, pike and smallmouth bass. Memorable afternoon!
