Do you love big bluegill?

On a % basis, this gravid 10 Inch Redear has to be the most pregnant fish I've ever seen.

Well, technically, sunfish don't get pregnant, but I know what you mean ;) those are huge! nice catch!

Great redear! I caught one VERY similiar Wednesday afternoon, it was 9.5 inches but extremely pregnant weighing almost a pound.

It wouldn't be hard to release a bunch of redear in that lake as long as you have access to catch them somewhere. It would actually be a really good thing for controlling the zebra mussels, they've tinkered with this in some lakes around the country. There's a lake in Northern Indiana that has these mussels and apparently the redear are getting huge.

But you realize what the horrible consequences would be, right? You'd have to deal with all those four pound redears! Wouldn't that be awful!

Distended Red....Oh how I wish I could release a thousand of those into Lake Geneva, and use them as zebra mussel control.
