Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

After I was done fishing for the day, I paddled a "sweep" around the shoreline and picked all of these out of the weeds. There's a few in here I'll actually use. They rest I'll give out to kids.

I do the same thing, Allen. I rarely turn away from a bobber in the weeds. I also have a large collection of 'donated' soft plastic worms and other tidbits Last season I was given an entire rod/reel combo that had been pulled from the depths. I cleaned it up, lubed it and now tote it along as my "bass stick."

I found a Night Bobby last year.  Still have and use it.

Half of the lures I have are "rescues".  Some of them are my most productive lures.

Good "catch", Allan. For quite a few years now, I make it a point to look for floats whenever I  fished a new spot for the first time. I use to display them on mono line that I had strung across my basement ceiling joists. I wish I would have labeled them as to where and when each one was found. (my memory was good back then, and I could recall where most of them came from) Since we moved 3 years ago, they are now in a 5 gallon bucket. I found some unusual ones over the years, and even found one of the lighted Night Bobby's. I may one day hang them in my fishing shed, as they make for some good memories of fishing trips to new waters.

LOL, no, that's not a float.  It's one of my probe thermometers that I got from work.  I don't trust my Sonar; the temp reading starts out about right, then within minutes, the indicated temp plunges to about 3 degrees F.  I was using my probe therm to monitor water temp.  52 degrees F in the shallow end of the lake (which is where the prevailing wind blows as well, so it warms up nicely), and 46 degrees F up the creek that feeds the lake.  I never did take a temp reading in the deep part of the lake when I paddled there.
