Outstanding specimens!.....I love the color of inland lake perch and the bright orange finage....we see many 16" perch from Lake Michigan every spring but the colors are pale in comparison.

I always thought Yellow Perch had seven bars...the pig on the left looks like it has 9!!

Michael, we had two fish that likely approached 2 pounds last week. They both measured 14 1/2 inches. I have personally taken 3 other perch from DCL that were larger than these, the biggest being 2 lb. 4 ozs. My friend Ron usually get several 'twos' each ice season there.

Lake record is 2 lb. 7 oz. I believe that Deep Creek is one of the premier 'trophy' perch lakes in the country and have promoted it as such through several articles and publications. With the new 10-perch limit on DCL it appears that many anglers will not travel for the biggies. I saw maybe 50 anglers on this 3,900 acre lake on Saturday, and that was the most icefishermen I have EVER seen on the lake on any given day! It is an amazing fishery!

not walleye, yellow perch, and they are HUGE! what are they like 2 pounders? nice catch!
