I didn't weight or measure it! I will be honest I didn't even catch that one. A fella that was a little more brave than I waded out into the river farther and caught it but wasn't keeping. He said he would trade me that wish for one of my small fish to release so I did. If I had to guess it was about 18 to 20 inches.

Wisconsin state record is only 5.12 lbs i personally caught a 24 1/2 incher that weighed 4.96 lbs great fun. Biggest walleye/sauger i caught was on a bluegill i caught perch fishing i set the hook the bluegill came to the top seen it was a little one i set down my pole because my other pole had a bite so i was more intent on that pole caught a nice perch threw it back in caught another nice perch ignoring the little bluegill i had on my other pole next thing i know that pole is inches from sinking i grab it out of the water thinking it just fell only to find this enormous weight i figured a snag but realized i had a fish. I fought it for i while finally seen it was a walleye a nice slob walleye got it to the boat my friend says in the most freaked out voice you can imagine thats the biggest walleye ive ever seen i was like ME TOO as i started to panic he goes to net it and misses it takes out another 30 feet of my 6 lb test line hoping this fish is hooked good its the biggest fish ive ever caught i finally finess it back to the boat my buddy goes to net it again snags the lure in the net and then lifts this huge walleye into the boat outside of the net it was nerve racking/ hilarious at the same time it was 31 inches and weighed 12lbs. Man i have so much fun fishing!!!!

Those saugers look exceptionally large compared to those taken in the Alleghenny R of western PA. Could they be the hybrid saugeyes ?
