This gator was 32", and was taken thru the ice in Northeastern Illinois....the bait used was an 8" dead smelt.....she had an unusual bulge that was quite noticeable.

I'm impressed! Didn't even chew him up into bite size pieces. Most fish would have choked on a gill that size.
