Yea Jen -The Bluelines around the cheeks and mouth show up on the PS I catch here in North New Jersey.
Gonna have to see what the Southern NY and the East PA BGillers have to say about this subject. They should have similar photos of catches like mine!

Based on the above website that's the biggest pumpkinseed I've ever seen.
Down south we call that a readear. Anyway it's a beauty!

John, You sure have some hungry fish up your way. Thats not the first picture you have taken of a fish jumping up to get you bait.!!!!!!!!!!

Last year I started suspecting the Blue Gills and P Seeds were bullying the Crappie I use to catch at this spot in early Spring.Bullying them off the great willow tree blowdown spot in the NW section with a pipe of warmer water entering the lake.I havent seen a Crappie at this spot yet this year but have caught a few way down the lake at a sunken oak tree very near ,YOU GUESSED IT ,another Willow tree .Willow Tree blowdowns are KEY on my lake for Pannies in early Spring be it PSeeds, BGills,Perch , Crappie or Bass.
Another great thing about fishing the light thin branches of willow tree blowdowns is you can fish 4lb. test from shore and pull in the snags without having to go heavier...not so with a sunken Oak Tree.
