Hey Jim, I fish a series of State park lakes and public reservoir waters that get pretty heavy pressure day in and day out!! I truly believe that fishing from my kayak has helped me sneak up on some very spooky fish that I'm sure I could not have caught otherwise if I had another boat with a motor going!!! As always I use very light fluorocarbon line of 4 lbs test (any less and I'm afraid these brutes would break the line) with light weight jigs of 1/32 and 1/16 ozs and of course the spoons which Musky has made famous!! Many of the places I fish have incredible amounts of brush cover on the bottom--so thick that several times I fouled my anchor on my kayak on it and was almost unable to pull it up--pretty scary!!!
Hey Warrior....you have been locked in on major league panfish all season long! What's up? Are you fishing a series of lakes that are connected, private water or lightly fished lakes that just don't get the panfishing pressure? I would not have thought that upstate NY could produce these kinds of fish. Any special techniques?
