Welcome aboard Kenneth. You are now part of an interesting bunch of people who have a common goal we all love to fish and fish we do. When we do this thing we love to do we are all the time learning and when we learn we pass on what we learn. Its out there for us to share cause if you read the Blogs and Forums there are tons of information for us to fine tune our skills. In the same token don't be afraid to share information yourself it may be something we can use ourselves to help us in our fishing endeavors. Then in the same token if you have a question don't be afraid to ask. Almost everybody here will answer your question if he or she knows the answer. There is also photo's and even some videos so don't be afraid to explore I know you will enjoy doing so. Where else can you learn and have so much fun doing it. GOOD FISHIN..
I would be honored to be on your friends list and please feel free to contact me anytime. I may not have all your answers but I will answers your questions if possible. We both have common interest we may or may not be the same in the way we pursue it but the bottom line is we both love to fish although our methods may differ and that is one reason I and you will enjoy the site, we can learn off of each others different ways and increase our knowledge base. . GOOD FISHIN..
I'm from west palm beach... Live right on the northern tip of where Peacocks habitat ..
All peacock bass fishing is south of here ...if you haven't tried Peacocks you missing a treat,
They are the fightingest fish I've ever seen ..and on a fly rod you cannot beat the sport ..
Paul
Pleasure is mine being your friend, s Forida is subtropical, everything environmentally is huge, fish, bugs, plants, that was about 5.5-6 lbs good size tilapa ..not impressive game fish, don't fight much, just a heavy fish, Peacocks a whole different ball game, amazing aggressive fish, they take everything personally, on a fly rod nothing better, deerhair bugs and poppers, sliders, divers they viciously attack em all ... If you ever get down to Florida look me up .i shall take you out ...
Paul
Hey Ken , sorry for just now accepting your friendship....... My computer has been down and know that's no excuse but the only one I have. GGGGGGGGgglad to be on your list buddy ......
I'll be checking the ice out here soon, something about -17 makes me want to stay indoors. I think you could be right though with all this extreme -cold weather we have been having.
Welcome aboard Ken something I talked about 6 months ago. I know I have much to learn myself and hopefully with all the knowledge on this site we can become better accustomed with our electronics.
Slip Sinker, you had asked me some questions about Ice fishing a couple weeks ago. I hadn't forgotten to answer you but decided to put all my thoughts together in a blog. I was able to post it today. I don't clame to have all the answers but have found that I can consistantly find Crappies under the Ice on the bodies of water that hold them where I live, so I shared what I knew... I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Thank you for invite Slip Sinker...You know more about ice fishing than I do, as the only Ices we have down here is in our drinks....hahahaha....How ever I will help any way I can, and one never has enough friends. Eric
That would be great Slip Sinker....I am envious of the Floridians where all them fishes are at too....All those fishes are over in the "OTHER" time zone of Florida...The "OTHER" Florida, hahahaha....I'm in N.W. Florida almost to Pensacola....Between Tallahassee and Pensacola, little town called Crestview in the central time zone....I have the Gulf south of me, and Alabama to the north.....So I'm with you on being envious for sure.....hahahaha
Hey Slip enjoyed the photos of crappie.Years ago i moved here to Gaylord as i mentioned earlier I fished Kent lake in the winter.Client of mine from down south taught me to fish blue gills using the porcupine quill..Anyway I also fished sandy bottom lk in south lyon we rented a cabin on the lk for 4 wks and nailed those crappie on pink whit feather jig 500 total for that period.what an experience for the children that was 40 plus yrs ago...Summer fishing at its finest..Richard
Slip-I use a bead between the bottom of my slip floats to cushion the blow it receives from banging against the split shot when hook setting and/or popping the float . Those plastic float stems don't split since I've done that .
Hope you don't mind I had a gentleman Marvin Morgan contact me about his Lowrance chirp finder. He like most other are confused trying to read the manual and understand it. I gave him your name since your the best versed on the subject I don't think you'll mind but if you do I apologize..
