I distinctly remember noticing when I had the group created it listed ONE member, me. I am happy you joined and you are important. I have no power over your level of importance, that is up to......wait, that is up to me! I can kick you out, but you can't kick me out. That would make me...you know.
Sharon, I am an Alabama fan, You are in Texas. You were number 1 last year sometime. I cannot say you are #1 now and be honest. I am not number one in the group. I am the CREATOR. I deleted a group I created just the other day. It is as though it never was. I will not delete you unless you are horrid! Being the first member to join my group, you are expected to lead by example. If you really think you are most important, show it by changing your Bigbluegill.com screen name to MOST IMPORTANT. Everything you have already done will change with it. I will still remember when you were Sharon. You joined on a Nov 3. I know what year too.
Like it was never there. The other day I had to tell you who LOFR was. When I e-mailed all my friends inviting them to my new club, You joined right up, while LOFR read every word on the new club site. Then he e-mailed me about a mistake I had made. Don't bother looking, it is already fixed. The point is; It don't cost nuthin' to PAY attention. Sorry you don't know what the club was. It is totally gone though.
I would like to reply there is one less than there was, but since I have CREATED another, ALL IS AS IT WAS, though different. I'm not trying to criticize you, but I am certainly stealing your bait.
You are talking to the Boogieman you know. I worry sometimes if I am reading you right, you do sometimes say I have hurt your feelings. Very few substantive replies are made to any discussions. Mostly one or two word cliches. Perhaps the topic has to be something they feel confident about answering. EVEN I have been skunked on a posted discussion. I deleted it. Then I reposted it in a different place. It's like fishing, sometimes you just can't figure out the right bait.
Sharon, I'm hardly on at all, in fact I haven't been fishing since April of this year. I am taking classes online trying to earn my degree, my kids are in school, so between their homework and mine I am swamped! Sorry. It'd be nice to chat about fishing even though I'm not casting a line into anything but these books!! :)
Thanks for thinking of me!
The point is about control of others. Some believe that when I am purposefully fishing a bluegill bed, that I am interfering with the survival of the species, or at least with their future enjoyment of having an opportunity to catch a monster sized bluegill. The latter I suspect is the real belief. Meanwhile, I am thoroughly enjoying my life. Just as those who irritate me in a parking lot by where they leave their carts are going away enjoying theirs. Some throw trash down, some pick trash up. Nothing else. Sharon, you will never understand what I mean. Boogiemen are unfathomable.
Sure, I can do SHARON on top,the bigger the letters the less space I have,It will be next week before I can get to it , I'm Heading to the Crappy Cabin this afternoon for the Weekend, it's on an isolated river up here which looks like a smaller Buffalo River, less people
Sorry I missed you on chat! Steph has contemplaited starting her own page but, she is hesitant. I have tried to encourage her to do so, she is an excellent angler! I'll keep trying!
Don't feel bad, Sharon. Andre and I got just 3 small bass and a bluegill. green sunfish and a yellow perch in 5 hours of hard fishing. Some days, it's just about being outside and enjoying Gods green earth!
That is Mo. I've had her since she was a baby (the size of a quarter) she is now 4 years old and 7 inchs long, she normally has a beautiful orange belly and is very active but lately all she does is lay on the bottom of the tank all dark in color, she eats a lot though I hand feed her wax worms and I'm so scard that something is wrong with her =:'( I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what is wrong with her.
I am doing a whole blog post on this one - I am on a mission. My pond is way too small to fish in - the pond I was talking about is a public pond at a park district. I live close to the city and have an o.k., but really small-sized back yard.
My pond is only 20 feet across.
The pond I was starting to talk about is managed by a park district that won't listen to me. But- I now have a voice and will be starting a campaign coming up...
Ouch! That's why I always pinch down the barbs on hooks, I'm really accident prone and got sick of digging out hooks...I'm doin alright, had a rough patch there but things are better now
My guess it's something on your end. I just checked with a couple of other members and they are not having problems. Hmmm. I'm not sure. I wish I was as good at techie things as I am at fishing,,....
Yes, Sharon, that is small for two-year-old fish. Almost certainly their slow growth is due to the large numbers of green sunfish you have in the pond. You need more bass, several more, to thin out the GSF, and then your bluegill will grow better.
Just for reference, I stocked some coppernose fingerlings (1-2") in a half-acre pond near me last June, and some of those fish are already over 8", at barely a year old.
Unfortunately this is not a website that I developed. It was started by a company called Ning. They do all of the bells and whistles. I just talk bluegill. I'm actually not very into computers...just fish.
Sharon the two locations that I fish frequently with large populations of beavers have much more activity at night. In one instance last month I arrived 30 minutes before first light only to get a nasty greeting (repeated tail slaps) from the resident beaver family. They are actually visiting a corn field adjacent to the water and cutting the corn down only to return to the water and eat the ears. The great thing about beavers in North Carolina, they always maintain a healthy fishery. Look forward to your photos!
Thanks Sharon. I'm originally from Louisiana and have alot of family in East Texas. Its good to read your posts and see your photos from the great state of Texas. I fished some big farm ponds in Northeast Texas around Paris with a friend from the Navy in the Eighties and my parents had a lake front home on Toledo Bend Reservoir for twenty years. We also made it over to Sam Rayburn a few times over the years. I'm wandering how bad the drought is hurting the fishing this year, everything I read is amazing....Good luck to you when you're able to get back out.
I flew home through Dallas early Saturday morning. I hope you got some of that rain. It delayed our outbound flight as it poured for hours. The flight crew was based in Dallas and couldn't help but to start cheering!
I finally got out to fish it felt great and we know it don't take much to make me happy in the fishing department. My sweet sister in law said she would set with the wife if I wanted to go. I guess we knew what that answer would be. I didn't catch lots of fish but I caught some quality fish. That don't mean I didn't catch any small ones cause I did. I threw them back. I did get about 6 P seeds probably between 6 and 7 inches that I wish I had kept and put in my pond, to me they are the most beautiful fresh water fish going. I used 1 ½ inch white pearl twister tail with a red 1/16 oz head. I caught total of 6 crappies,4 large mouth bass, 6 punkin seeds, 3 bluegills, 1 rock bass and 8 small perch. Had a blast. Have a good day and GOOD FISHIN..
I would love to be fishing Sharon but Irene has other ideas. Hatches are secure as we wait it out in Carolina. Good luck to all of you this weekend and keep us in your thoughts over here in the MidAtlantic.

I just want to know if Sharon is ever going to change her name when she catches a gill bigger than 7 1/2 inches? It's bound to happen sooner or later.
