What type of animal is a bluegill?: I have a pond management business based out of middle Tennessee. Presently I manage approximately 500 acres of water, ranging from 1/4 acre ponds to a 120-acre lake. Bluegill to two pounds, shellcracker to well over two pounds, and bass to ten pounds have been caught from ponds I manage. I have a fish-hauling truck and haul fish all over the Southeast. I'm also a distributor for Skretting fish food.
