Hi Marty, welcome to the group. I'm from L.A. (lower Alabama) but love to fish in the panhandle. There's just something about those natural cypress lakes, dark water and lily pads that makes me want to see what's down there. Hope you enjoy the discussions and hopefully new ideas you'll find here.
Piney Z only allows boats with a trolling motor. I beleive the boat ramp, which is pretty rough, is accessible along the track that leads along behind the restrooms. I haven't put my boat in on the lake yet and have only fished from the fishing fingers, of which are many. I did do a water survey out on the lake a few years back and we put in from the track mentioned at beginning of this post. Once I get my boat going again, I'll be getting out there as I hardly ever see boats on the lake. Probably coz of the difficulty in putting in. The lake is popular with kayakers and canoeists. That might be a better option.
Marty, I would love to fish N. Florida with ya! I have read about some true monsters down there! That could be my spring break trip! I'm of the same cloth, man. I love fishin new waters and making new friends. That all equals new memories and new stories and great times!
No I don't live in Tall I live in Griffin GA. My brother lives in Waulla and I fish with him as often as I can. My mother in law lives in Okeechobee and has a home on the river so I fish down there quite a bit.
