Would like to add this, this is the way I like to do my spiders with the chenille and sponge glued on the chenille make a much more durable spider will last forever. Haven't got into the feathers yet but it really does set your spider off. Again great looking spider.

Beauty - Wooly Worm with a sponge body!

This is not a fly from my vice as I'm still working on my skills. This little panfish assassin is the master piece of Terry Wilson from http://thebluegillpond.com. Yellow, Black, and Chartreuse are all effective, and one fly I could count on when nothing else was working. I posted this picture when I first joined this site to show Greg, Dick, and whoever else was curious as to what my go to fly was and looked like. Terry did give me the recipe for when I'm ready to sit down and crank these babies out.

nice pattern I like the splash of red at tail.

Terry is also a member here. If you dont have his bluegill book, better get it.

Looks like this covers all the bases for a surface boil. Worm caught by spider for a meal. Spider becomes the victim, with the extra protein shake. Fish enjoys double-pleasure meal. Human enjoys the battle and frying.

Leo, couldn't have ended that statement any better! Scruffy I snagged that book the minute I got back into fly fishing Andy consider it my bible when it comes to gills on the fly. Bluegill are my favorite fish on the fly rod hands down, though bass and crappie can be a good time as well. His crappie book is also worth a read, and has some great fly recipes in it including his newer fly the brim reaper.
