Vintage Equipment Group

I know this sounds strange, but vintage equipment like fiberglass rods still have a place! We can talk shop and discuss why some vintage gear is just as good (if not better) than the new stuff.

Old Reels

Pictured here are three old  Center pin? or Conventional ?  reels I'd like to learn more about.Top: Shakespeare, 'Universal',1918 2) Pflueger 'Trump',1943? 3) A.F. Meisselbach & Bro. Newark N.J.,"TRI-PART", 1907  I am trying to find out now if they were designed for trolling or casting ,or both.

    What are you wondering?
I have a bunch of these - pretty much all the same in function.

I too have several. In fact my first baitcaster was a Shakespeare President my cousin gave me with salt and pepper catgut line. Direct drive and a solid fiberglass rod. I had gone to the big boys club. Caught lots of river bass on that old reel using a creek chub broke back darter. Crud but effective.
