ULTRA LIGHT JIGGING SETUPS-SHORT RODS
I have recently trended back to the short rod philosophy for jigging panfish.. They accommodate use and comfort in the kayak and jon boat favorably as well.
In recent trips with the strong spring panfish bite for crappie and bluegill I’ve compiled to Ultra light systems I’d like to share. One system utilizes an old favorite cheep 5-0 ft Berkley Cherry Wood rod that I really love the feel on fish and is surprisingly sensitive.
Both systems utilize super lines for extreme castability distance, smoothness and sensitivity.
On a recent outing I slammed the crappies with the Okuma/Nanofil setup… and we know how sensitive their bite is…
These are rigs that I’m currently happy with and would confidently recommend to others.
