what initially sparked me to purchase the rod and line for this rig was i needed to replace a failing Berkley Cherry Wood rod and being inspired by a very successful ice fishing season using thin sensitive braid and small graphite rods. My interest recently is being brought back to short sensitive rods rather than the longer 6-0 ft + UL rigs i recently put together. Smaller is more sensitive... So the closer i was to replicating the short rod feel of ice fishing the closer that goal would be achieved. I feel i hit the nail on the head with this rig. very sensitive .... i was able to drop 1/32 oz jigs into 15 ft of water and detect the small panfish bites very readily on very long casts. tiny jigs in deep water was the ultimate goal.
