Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My latest batch of quill floats have less paint to show more of the natural quill colors. I used large copper loops to accommodate fly line. I used a satin finish to reduce glare. They are pictured with a vintage Porcupine Quill my father had. No geese were harmed all feathers were molted voluntarily.

Thanks Guys they won't replace porcupine quills but they are a lot easier to get and free. They make some real fancy one over in Europe. They are worth checking out. We been eating duck but geese haven't been on the menu Carl. Yet.

FOLKS;;;  KEITH IS EXACTLLY CORRECT !!  GOOD QUILLS ARE HARD TO FIND;; AND EXPENSIVE !!  AFRICAN QUILLS ARE THE BEST ONES TO USE BY FAR !!  AND;; IF YO UBUY THE ; SO -CALLED;; READY TO FISH WITH QUILLS;; WELL;; THE CRAFTMANSHIP ON MOST OF THEM; IS LACKING !I JUST BOUGHT THESE 3 QUILLS LAST WEEK;; ALL WERE MADE UP ; LIKE THE ONES ON THE RIGHT;;;;  THE WAY I DO MINE; IS ON THE LEFT !  BIG DIFFERENCE !  AND THE BEST WAY IVE FOUND TO  KEEP THE LINE TO THE QUILL FLOAT IS;; THIS SURGICAL TUBING ( SLINGSHOT REPLACEMENT BAND) CUT IN 1/2 INCH LENGTH;; HOLDS TERRIFIC !  AND FINALLY FOUND A PERFECT USE FOR THAT BRAIDED FISHING LINE !!  ITS WHAT I USE;; TO WRAP THE WIRE TO THE QUILL WITH !!  PERFECT SIZE FOR WRAPPING !!
