Steve-

That reel in the picture is amazing! I love the old gear.

Cool reel! That baby brings back some memories! My dad has two of them. I used to use one back when I got started in this madness we call fishing. I believe he still has them. If he does I will get them from him, he doesn't fish anymore...never really did, and re-build them! Great winter project! I will keep you posted!

I picked this old rod and reel up the other day can't wait to put her back to work

You have a Mitchell 304 reel.  Does it have the letters C.A.P. on the reel?  A C.A.P 304 was my first spinning reel.  I have acquired more 304s and have rebuilt several of them.  I gave each of my two sons a rebuilt 304.  Their reels are older then them!!

Yes mine is a 304 C.A.P.,my Dad has one that has just C.A.P. on it.

Nice,What brand of rod.My Dad has an old St Croix fiberglass that his reel is on.He shut the car door and broke a couple inches off the tip.

Hey Guys -Anyone know a shop in NENJersey that repairs Mitchell reels? I have three that could use some work.'Fairfield Tackle' near me only services Penn and Daiwa items.
