Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

In NJ we are allowed 5 rigs .I generally set 3 tip ups ,Jig a rod and have a dead stick rod hanging off a bucket. I switch on and off with the jigging rods .I have two set up for Gills and pan fish with 3 and 4# test  line /small lures , but I also have 6# and 8# test on other rods and jig spoons tipped with shiner heads or tails  for the big appetite Crappie , Pickerel,Perch and Bass .
If I leave the tip ups at home I use three Jigging rods(a hand held and 2 dead sticked) and switch between the UL's and heavier rods, using maybe 5 different set ups three at a time .

I like to fish the 8-12 ' zone first in wood ,weed or rock structure and then work into the shallower and deeper sections from there .I generally jig deeper and set tip ups shallower. I like to have the Flasher unit with me on the hole I'm jigging while watching the dead stick rod and the tip-ups when I pause my cadences.
