Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Howdy All

Yes we try to get the gills even with the hot weather.

We've worked the back of coves and flats working the edges of holes.

We've all been working in the early morning and late evening and nights to beat the heat.

In Northern Arkansas is rather hot last week it was in the upper 90's and over 100 a few days.

Now that the nights have cooled off we've had a 3 day period where the early morning temps were in the high 60's with fog rising off the lake due to water temp being higer than air temp, really cool view from the shoreline having to wear shades just to see the bobber in the fog.

Have a great summer and keep fising (but be safe in the heat drink lots of water) for our pals the gills.

 Yours in service

James and Kathy

Hi James and Kathy -Do you fish fly rod poppers for gills on the hot days? The evening bite can be great and some good sized gills can come this way . Got back into it last year and plan on doing it more once June July and August come around.

Thanks for starting this group .You both seem really interested in fishing . Great isn't it?
