My friend and I went out to a new spot on the Chattahoochee River where he claims that the gill and crappie fishing are good. We fished from the bank, and were throwing worms, some under bobbers and some off the bottom, to see if we could pick up a few fish. The neat thing about the spot is that it is at the mouth of one of the many feeder creaks to the river, and we were throwing under a street bridge where there is constant shade. I believe that the creek itself is probably a good spawning area in the spring, and it has a deep channel that holds promise for some good crappie fishing come the cooler months of fall and winter. Anyway, we caught some nice 7 to 9 inchers for my buddy to have a fish fry for his family. Hope to take him up to my friend's lake this week (I'm on vacation and it happened that he is too), and take out the jon boat for some bigger fish. Steve, I made up some of the "spider grubs" that you mentioned in an earlier post, and am anxious to try them out. Hope to send some pictures soon. Nick.
