Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I went out today to the spillway first aiming at gills and sacalait, then switching over to bass.

Same as last time, I caught NOTHING. I dont think the fish are even down there, really. I dont know what else to try. There were three others out there, got there before i did, and one of them who goes out there almost daily (he works two weeks, off one week) was out there and didnt catch anything. He lives right down the road and probably knows the place better than anyone else.

So, I am like Leo, I have finally come to the point where I think fishing is over, at least for a short time. I might not be able to stay away from the water, but I'd be terribly surprised if I caught something next time I went.

Its a sad thing to admit, and it begs the question, "when do I start fishing again".

It was 74 degrees today. Its gonna get cold in about two or three weeks. man I hate the cold weather.

General reply..taking into considerations all of the posts made so far....

Down here, people are really open and outgoing at the boat launch. We all share stuff and I can tell you this much..I went back yesterda at my uncles request...there was a guy there who was throwing evething in his tackle box...ended up with crankbaits..and it just isn't working.

My uncle spent a lot more time on panfish than I did but we just didn't catch anything.

I threw the Brush hog out there and got a few panfish taps...but nothing. Another thing not really a problelm now but usually from may thru september is oxygen depletion.

I know that the fish move...I know all about that but we have exhausted efforts..and I am not talking about just me but everyone else out there.

I tried live worms down deep, rooster tails of the smaller variety, beetle spins, tube jigs...the only thing I have not tried is crickets.

Just really confusing. Yeah I know y'all catch panfish 12 months out of the year...I did too..but right now its not working.

Another issue..we are seeing a greater number of alligators aloing I 55. At the same time the florida spotted gar aren't anywhere to be found...and that right there is a troubling issue.

Really confusing.

As for yesterday..no panfish. I spent a little more time on bass and caught two, my uncle caught one.
