Do you love big bluegill?
Stopped by the pond at the local park today....
This is the one that nearly dried up last year. I didn't have time to fish. I was just trying to kill about 10 minutes before going to work. Tadpoles are getting bigger. Didn't see any sunfish, but I did spook a good-sized turtle, which high-tailed it off the bank and headed for deep water. It immediately turned 180, and had a good-sized LMB hot on it's tail. I'm thinking the Bass had a nest it was defending???
I don't know if the Bass survived the drought, or if it was stocked by the local bucket brigade (I'm thinking the latter). Hopefully, there are some sunnies in there somewhere to feed all the predators in this pond....
